The chuck is a mechanical device used to clamp the workpiece on the machine tool. Using the radial movement of the movable jaws evenly distributed on the chuck body, the workpiece is clamped and positioned as a machine tool attachment. The chuck is generally composed of three parts: chuck body, movable jaws and jaw drive mechanism. The minimum diameter of the chuck body is 65 mm, up to 1500 mm, with a central through-hole to pass the workpiece or bar; the back has a cylindrical or short conical structure, directly or through the flange and the machine tool spindle end connected. The chucks are usually mounted for use on lathes, cylindrical grinders and internal grinders, and can also be used on milling and drilling machines in conjunction with various indexing devices.
In order to make the machine tool processing can get better accuracy and stability, the chuck also becomes an important "plus point". At present, there are two types of chucks in the market: domestic chucks and imported (Taiwan, foreign) chucks. Domestic chucks, Changzhou Bedford occupies a large part of the market share. Taiwan chuck sales account for 60% of the imported chuck market, Korea also occupies a significant part of the share, the original Japanese and European and American chucks belong to the middle and high-end products.
Classification of chucks.
From the number of chuck jaws can be divided into: two-jaw chuck, three-jaw chuck, four-jaw chuck, six-jaw chuck and special chucks. From the use of power can be divided into: manual chucks, pneumatic chucks, hydraulic chucks, electric chucks and mechanical chucks. The structure can be divided into: hollow chuck and solid chuck.
In fact, the domestic production technology is fully capable of producing high-quality chuck products, but the main problem lies in the heat treatment and detailed process processing and imported chucks have a large gap. Coupled with the large user base in the domestic market, the competition is fierce, manufacturers have to control the cost of products as much as possible to lower the selling price in exchange for market competitiveness. This leads to some common problems of domestic chucks, such as bad stability, short service life, short repeatability and so on. Changzhou BDF has made a good effort to make the chuck, and the technical reform has produced a high quality chuck product. The chuck has been upgraded again, and the 2.0 version is better, with longer life and stronger grip.
